The Indo-Pacific Finals of the 2024 Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) concluded today. 3 out of 12 finalists emerged as winners and will represent their respective countries in the EWC Global Top 250. The 250 startups will have the opportunity to compete on the global stage for a place in the Top 100 and to be sponsored to participate in person in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in November 2024.

The 3 Winning Startups are:
1)
N&E Innovations, a MedTech company from Singapore that developed a 100% natural antibacterial agent made from food wastes that has been certified to eliminate toxic particles, bacteria and viruses like the coronavirus.

2) Vietnam Green Technology, a GreenTech company from Vietnam that uses its futuristic microalgae for wastewater purification, its microalgae can be turned into raw biomass and be metabolized as usable energy.

3) Niyog Life, a FoodTech company from the Philippines and Singapore, has created animal-free, dairy-like replacements crafted from sustainably grown coconuts that mimic dairy, with the lowest environmental impact, providing superior health and nutrition benefits.

The esteemed EWC Indo-Pacific Judges are:

  • Ms. Laureen Goi, General Manager (Export Sales and Marketing), Tee Yih Jia

  • Mr. John Cheng, Founder, Innovate 360

  • Mr. Riady Gozali, Managing Director, Golden Vision Capital

  • Dr. Charlie In, Founder, Raffles Capital

The EWC is one of the largest and most diverse pitch competitions and support programs of its kind. Every year, tens of thousands of entrepreneurs from 200 countries compete for US$1 million dollars in cash prizes and millions more worth of investment, support and publicity through national pitch competitions, bootcamps and a global finals event attended by leading investors.

The past EWC Global Winners from the Indo-Pacific Region include:

1) TurtleTree, a Singaporean-owned business that is the first biotech company to create milk sustainably using cell-based technology, who received a US$500,000 cash prize.

2) NDR Medical Technology, a Singapore-based surgical AI robotics firm that assist surgeons to access small and hard-to-reach tumours, who bagged a US$200,000 cash prize.

3) TODOC, a South Korean company which developed cochlear implants that enable the hearing impaired to hear sounds by applying electrical stimulation to the users’ auditory nerves, who received a US$500,000 cash prize.

Thus, fuel healthier entrepreneurial ecosystems that go on to create more jobs, educate individuals, accelerate innovation and strengthen economic growth.”, said Jayren Teo, EWC Indo-Pacfic Organizer, GEN Singapore.

All Global Finalists are enrolled in the GEN Starters Club, providing a global peer network, mentorship and other support services to help members, especially after the EWC, reach their full potential. Other partners may be engaged to provide post-EWC support.

The EWC Indo-Pacific Finals 2024 is organised by GEN Singapore, Numun Labs and NXT. It is supported by Raffles Capital, Boustead Apex, Innovate 360, nxtdevt, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and various GEN Chapters. All finalists gained access to 1-to-1 consultation with experienced mentors and US$5,000 worth of perks from our partners.
